Maryland: Gateway to Cyber Security Opportunities
While Washington, DC remains the policy center for government cyber security and data management requirements, the undisputed technological center is actually in the State of Maryland. Maryland is home not just to huge data users such as NASA, US Census Bureau, National Institutes of Health (NIH) and National Security Agency (NSA) − but also to the vast array of their contractors and subcontractors including Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, SAIC, Booz Allen Hamilton, Raytheon, and Boeing.
In addition, most of the government’s cyber security and IT agencies are either located in, or are being moved to, Maryland including the US Cyber Command, Defense Information Systems Agency (DSIA), Intelligence Advanced Research Project Agency (IARPA), and the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).
