"We got more than just an investment at MarketReach
America. Every time I
attend MarketReach America
I get a detailed update
of the medical device
industry in the United
States as well as an opportunity to meet outstanding
business and thought leaders. We also met great
potential strategic partners.
So MarketReach gave us more than just an investment, it
gave us important information on how to use the investment
wisely. MarketReach is a complete package."

| Why Maryland? |
Although MarketReach America will be drawing
industry and investment participants from all
over the United States, here are some of
the reasons why Maryland is the natural venue
for a life sciences conference:
|
 |
Maryland has the fastest growing bioscience
cluster in the United States. Each year, more
than $9 billion in federally funded R&D is
conducted in Maryland. |
 |
Ranked second in the States in biopharmaceutical
innovation.
|
 |
Home to 350 bioscience companies conducting
biopharmaceutical discovery, developing new devices,
diagnostics and research tools, and breaking
new ground in bioinformatics. Some well-known
Maryland companies: MedImmune, Human Genome Sciences,
Advancis, GenVec, Martek, Shire U.S. Manufacturing,
and Gene Logic. |
 |
Home to key federal agencies, such as the National
Institutes of Health (NIH), Food and Drug Administration
(FDA), and National Institute of Standards and
Technology (NIST). |
 |
World-class research universities, such as
John Hopkins University and the 11-campus University
of Maryland system.
|
|
| Who Should Apply? |
MarketReach America Life Sciences
& Medical Devices 2008
targets innovative Israeli
companies seeking to penetrate
the American market with —
Products
or services that are ready to sell,
in advanced development, or “strategic-partnering” ready
Qualified management to undertake international
business development
Priority will be given to applicants with the
greatest potential for success.
|
|
Fee includes one-year
membership to the Maryland/Israel Development
Center, which provides access to
MIDC's extensive network of strategic and investor
contacts starting with participation in this
year's conference. Efforts will be made to
arrange one to two targeted meetings before
or after the conference.
MarketReach America is
heavily subsidized by
its founders and others.
Because the MarketReach
America program aims to
become self-sustaining,
each participating company
will be required to pay
a limited success fee.
This fee will be calculated
as 2.5% of any revenues
or investments derived
from introductions made
during the MarketReach
America program. The fee
will be payable on all
revenues or investments
received for a period
of five years from the
start of the program.
|
|
"The Maryland/Israel
Development Center’s MarketReach America program
offers an exciting opportunity to meet with entrepreneurs
and executives of innovative Israeli companies developing
the next generation of biomedical products and technologies."
Pat
Rodemers, Director, New
Business Development,
Novation
